It might sound late but I cannot endure not to post my top 10 picks for the Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010. My choices in no particular order:

1. When In Manila - I think Vince has pioneered video blogging in the Philippines. I also admire his personality that makes blogging to a different dimension. I also like his writing style and he is also on of my idol bloggers that influenced me to venture to blogging. :)

2. Nomnomclub.com - One of my fave food blog. One can experience the great food in the metro with his blog. I also love as he provides his readers opportunities to experience the food through his online contests sponsored from his blog. I think he is one of the credible food blogger today.

3. Jay-elx - One of the young bloggers that I know and I can see his dedication on his craft. I also like how he was able to express his honest opinions on the different items that he review via his blog post.

4. Ning4u - I just met Ning earlier on an event and I am really happy to see her. I am really amazed how she was able to share all the latest contest on the net and be able to help her readers win as well. Just like me! :)

5. Thirsty Blogger - I like his unique blog about drinks. I think it is very novel and I admire him for creating a blog about it. We always concentrate on food that we forgot about the drinks.

6. Generously Greedy -  One of the source for online contest as well. I like how he also share contest and promo to his readers just like on my blog.

7. Yesnohmeh - I first saw them on their review for a sports event and I like how they presented their opinions via blog. It is like a debate blog for me and you can get the perspective from 2 people of different gender. Now that's a nice perspective on things. :)

8. Mommy Lace - The wife of one my favorite bloggers Azrael. I enjoy reading this blog and her adventure to her new career as being the mother to Ashton. I think any people can relate on this blog, especially the mothers. :)

9. Cablay Extraordinary Life - One of my friend blogger. I think I can see myself in him as well who always enjoy joining contests and also sharing them. I also like his personality who loves technology, sports and helping others.

10. kahitanoito - Since it was not mentioned that you cannot nominate yourself and for the reason that I cannot find another blog to nominate, I'm nominating my first blog. I hope that with my blog I was able to improve myself and other people, share the latest reviews and contests and also help influence and change the life of others via the posts that I shared

If you wish to post your top 10 list, then you can see the full details on this blog post. This contest will not be possible without the help from the following sponsors
Events and Corporate Video, Budget hotel in Makati, Pinoy Party Food, Copyediting Services, PR Agency Philippines, Budget Travel Philippines, Send Gifts to the Philippines, Black Friday Deals, Roomrent - units for rent, Search Profile Index, and Corporate Events Organizer

My blog is turning 9 months already in a few days. It might not have the caliber like the other well-known and idol bloggers like Anton Diaz, Chuvaness, Boy-Kuripot, Vince or Azrael but hopefully it can reach even a percentage of what these bloggers achieved in the near future. I always wanted to join blogging event to help improve my blog but either the location/schedule does not fit me or I don't have the money yet to invest on it (due to personal financial priorities). I think my prayers has been answered when finally I saw a blog post (http://boy-kuripot.blogspot.com/2010/08/learn-maven-secrets.htm) from my fellow blogger Jeff about a particular contest for a chance to attend the Maven Secrets 4.0 class. However, I must reflect and answer the question "What are you blogging for?" in order to stand a chance to win the scholarship grant.

I actually had a hard time reflecting and going back on those days when I'm still planning to create a blog. I tried to examine and understand what has been my passion or the fueling force that enabled me to sign-up for an account and continue this passion. There are different reasons on my head about this but I think what helped me a lot to write this entry is my first-ever post I have written on this blog. In a nutshell, I can honestly say that I'm blogging because I want:

To improve -  I must say that I'm not really good in written communication and this has been the constructive criticism I received since my secondary years. My confidence in writing has been affected and I'm always conscious and still end up with mistakes. I know I have good thoughts in mind but could hardly express it because I always had a trauma that it will not be as good as my peers.
Blogging has been my medium to express myself freely and at the same time use my expertise in computer technology. It is a haven for me where I can have the confidence without being scrutinized but rather helped by the community of readers/ fellow blogger to be better. On the other hand, it also serves a venue for me to help other bloggers like me. I do not only improve my communication skills but more importantly I try to improve myself holistically by gaining friends from the blogging community. In the process, I was able to improve not only myself but learn as I also try to improve the lives of other people as well.

To share - I started this blog because I want to share my experiences on the different passion that I have in my life. I want them to have a glimpse of my experience and at some point experience the same thing via the post that I write. As I travel the world, I want to let them feel that they are on the place I have been into. Not all are given the privilege that I have been into and I want to share with them the life that I have experienced. With my experiences, I would also want to relay with my readers some practical tips and advice. Aside from my experiences, I envisioned this blog to be a tool to help others gain knowledge. I know God gave me talents / skills not for me to succeed but it should serve a better purpose for others. In the advent of technology, blogging has been my way to contribute in order to teach a larger population of people about the things that I have learned in the hope that they can be able to use it as well for their benefit and for other people.
Aside from the experience and the skills, kahitanoito has been built in order to share the latest information to other people, especially on promos/contests that could help improve their lives. In the short span of my career in blogging, I am very touched every time there is a person or a blogger who thanked me upon winning a contest which I posted/sponsored. It could just be a simple GC that I have given to Erica, Esvimin, Marizen and Ferdinand but actually it helped build relationship stronger as they use it to eat a sumptuous meal with their love ones. It could have been a simple information about a sale, but it was able to help our friend save money for the education of her children. It might just be a simple beauty product that I have given to Dennis, but such winning brings confidence to his personality and also enabled him to believe that online contest is real. It might just be a simple story about my passion for running, but it helped influence my dad to join the sport and improve his health. It might just be a simple joy to see a person win/be aware of a contest from my blog, but that simple smile help eases the pain of that person and put a spark of hope in the hearts of Filipinos amidst all the crisis and difficulties faced on this challenging world.

To inspire - I think the ultimate purpose of this blog revolves on this...to be an inspiration for everyone. We all faced several problems some in financial, emotions, work, personal, etc. I hope this blog serve its purpose to relieve the problems we are facing. In every contest that I have shared, I hope this lighten up their spirit that there is still a chance to gain something if they will just persevere. In sharing my personal saga and challenges, I hope it influence and inspired them not to lose faith and pursue their goals. In every sport I joined and posted, I would be really happy to know that it helped them utilize their time for their personal well-being and keep them away from going to bad vices.  In every stories that I shared, I hope it helped them make wiser decision in life and influence others to stay the same. In every photo I shared, I hope it inspired a lot of people to appreciate the beauty of our country and be more proud that we are Filipinos. In every videos that I post of Filipino talents, I hope one becomes proud to shout out that Filipino can even surpass other talents from all over the world. In every personal post about my lolo and lola, I hope I was able to awaken the Filipino values within and help them to appreciate the people they care the most. In every post that I make, I hope I inspired the youth of today that age does not hinder one to express their opinion and be a catalyst for social change. I hope I can be a living testament for them that in my simple blog I was able to help myself, the people who read my blog and most especially our country. I hope they realized that one doesn't need power, wealth, seniority to impact the lives of others, a blog can just be the tool that we need in order to ignite that burning passion and desire to succeed among the heart of Filipinos.

I named my blog kahitanoito because this is the common response we hear from Filipinos. We can interpret it as a statement of hope...(kahit ano kaya nating gawin kung magsusumikap). It is also entitled kahitanoito because I want this blog to cater to a large user group and touch the lives of any reader from every generation, from all walks of life, around the world. I don't want my blog to be limited/constrained by a particular topic, because just like every reader of this blog, I want my readers to realize that there is NO barrier to what they can do. I want them to see that limit is just a personal mindset that we can defy and one should never be afraid to explore new horizons.

kahitanoitoa blog about anything under the sun... A proudly Filipino blog that SHARES posts which creates positive INFLUENCE and IMPROVE the life of any individual from all walks of life.

As I was checking my facebook account, I was intrigued to see a post from SEAIR fan page about a special contest for bloggers like me. :) I am really interested to join and hopefully be part of the 8 lucky winners of an all-expense paid bloggers's tour in Boracay.

I can just imagine how lucky they are as they will be flying safe and for free via South East Asian Airlines. To add to that, they will also be given free accommodation at Microtel Boracay courtesy of Microtel Philippines.

However, in order for me to be included or be chosen by the panel of judges, I must answer this 'hurclean task' to answer the question "Why you should be chosen to join the tour?". I had to think several weeks and finally I already have an answer....

WHY NOT

W - (Well Travelled) I think it will be great for SEAIR and Microtel Philippines to have some well travelled bloggers joining their trip. I was able to visit already at least a country in all the 6 continents of the world (only continent remaining is Antartica). I love to travel around and I think it will be a great opportunity for me  if I will be given the chance to join. I think my experiences with different destinations, people and food will greatly be helpful for the team. I like adventure and I surely believe that SEAIR and Microtel will not fail us on this trip and yet we can be able to experience it in the majestic Boracay Island.
Me after running my 3rd 10K with a finisher medal :)
H -  (Healthy) I believe there a lot of activities that is being prepared for us thus any blogger who will be included in the list should have the energy to participate in all the tasks. I think I have what it takes and I'm up for any challenge that will be given to us.
Last April, I was able to visit for the first time Boracay island because I was included on a team to compete for a sports tournament. Aside from being lucky, I think I was able to participate because of my healthy living and my passion for sports. I can play almost any kind of sport may it be volleyball, basketball, badminton, football, futsal, tennis, table tennis, frisbee, touch football, etc.
My kick-in for the futsal tournament!
If ever I will be chosen, I will like to feature the different healthy activities in store for people to visit in Boracay. I think I will try to feature the different healthy food restaurant around the island that is cheap and also good for the health conscious.

Y - (Young) I believe I am one of the youngest blogger around. I think with my youth I can bring energy to the  group. I think I can capture the perspective of the young and yuppie group of today. I think I will also be able to learn from my peers on their experiences on blogging and as well on their perspective on different things. I think I can contribute a lot to the team given my age. I would also like to meet people different people from all walks of life/age group on this trip.

N - (Nature lover) I really love being close with our nature. I think having this opportunity brings me closer again to the beauty of our nature. When I last visited Boracay,  I was actually amazed by its beauty but I want to explore more out of it. I hope this time I can be able to dive or snorkeling as I was informed the marine life underneath the heavenly waters of Boracay is incomparable. I think this is why a lot of tourists love this island. I want to highlight that and be able to post it on my blog for my readers to be excited based on my experience, which hopefully will be given by SEAIR and Microtel Philippines.

Aside from  highlighting the beauty of nature, me as a concern steward of the environment would also like to share the ways how we can protect such Mother Earth's gift to Filipinos.
My picture during my CDO travel last year!
O - (Optimism and Opinion) I want to share with my readers hope...hope that there are still beautiful places around in the Philippines, hope that you can enjoy this affordably (Thanks to SEAIR and Microtel Philippines), and hope that can still enjoy and experience adventure without leaving the country. I as a blogger would like to take part and be an influence to other people and clear the mindset that they have with our country. I think this tour can help contribute to the stories that I can write to better promote our country and most especially the Filipino people.
I think as a blogger it will be the opinions of the author that will truly matter. I will give my honest opinion on my experience and also be able to share tips on what I learned from this tour. Hopefully, the readers of my blog can find the posts that I will share out of this tour to be really beneficial on their trips to Boracay.

T - (Tourism) I think this will be the primary reason why I want to be included on the tour. I have visited several countries already but I want to  highlight the beauty of the Philippines and what sets it apart from all the places I have been. With my camera on my side, I want to capture on the photographs that I can cover from the activity the hidden beauty of our country. I would like to let the Filipinos be proud of our natural resources rather than always dream of going outside the Philippines. I hope a lot of tourist, may it be foreigner or fellow Filipinos, will be amazed on the stories that I can share on my blog about my stay in  Boracay.
A beautiful picture of the floating cemetery - One of the truly majestic place in the Philippines
I would also like to showcase how interested tourist can easily experience this "heavenly" location in the Philippines via the quickest flight of SEAIR. What more can make a perfect vacation is if you have the perfect accomodation via Microtel Boaracay.

I hope you do like my entry for the contest. I hope this can be able to convince you that I truly deserve to be one of the eight bloggers who will travel in Boracay. I'm so excited on this trip to meet new people and also share my experience to the readers of my blog. Thanks to SEAIR and Microtel Philippines in advance!

I have been thinking for quite some time of this very challenging “Super One Blogger” contest of Globe. I wanted to join their contest long time ago but I’m stucked with many choices on their question on “Who is your SUPER ONE and why?”. I then realized after I look at a message from my medieval mobile phone… a message about my SUPER ONE.

SMS #ONE on my cellphone for all these years

This is the image of the Message #1 on my cellphone. It is a message from my Tita in the US confirming the situation of my SUPER ONE after he was rushed to the hospital. I never removed this message from my phone because this is the message that assures me that he is fine and we could still be with him soon. I think this is the best message I received knowing that he is still ok. He is the ONE and only Lolo I had in my life (my other Lolo from my mother’s side died long before I was born) and it will really be a big blow for me to lose him.

My Lolo Pilo when he used to take me to Fiesta Carnival

I have chosen my Lolo Teofilo (or Pilo as he was usually called) as my SUPER ONE because he has been a special part of my life. The moment I was born he already made a great impact to my life. A lot of people are wondering why I only have ONE first name as it is common to Filipinos to have at least 2 first names. Aside by having only one name, it was also too short as its only composed of 3 letters. Many might not know that it might be only short and ONE but it is very special…because it was my Lolo   who gave me the name that I am very proud to be called now. It is extra special as he gave me this name as this was the codename he used during World War II to fight for our country’s freedom against Japanese regime. You might not find the name of my Lolo in the textbooks but his valor and bravery during that time makes me proud as he never killed even a single person during that time but rather help in his own ways. He always believe the value of life, even if the person if an enemy that killed a thousand lives. I think this was the reason he was blessed as well to have a long life.

*A special video I created to commemorate my SUPER ONE

My Lolo has been a key source of inspiration for all of his apo, just like how he raised with my lola their 8 children. He always taught us the great values and how to be humble in life. My lolo is not rich but he is just very hardworking and very helpful to the people in need, even if he is as well, that's why he was still able to surpass all the crisis. I think one of the notable aspect that I love with my Lolo is him being jolly. I could hardly remember an instance where I see him frowning or sad. He always want all of us to be happy all the time. I think that is why he also spoiled his apo with generous care. He is also ONE of the first person who inspires me to do good ever since I started studying. He always tells us that we should value our education and truly he was not wrong on this advice.

Lolo Pilo and Lola Rosenda on their 50th Wedding Anniversary at the same church they were married

Another thing that people admire of my Lolo is his loyalty and love for my mother. He is truly a ONE-woman-man and he was able to keep the relationship strong. They were able to keep their marriage together for 65 years together and I think this has been the reason why his children also value their family. I hope I can also have the same fate when I have my family. My lolo and lola love each other very much that they care for each other until the very end. Even if they are very sick, they still care the welfare of one another and also still care for us.

My Globe SIM all these years.
I have been loyal to my ONE and only mobile network provider for more than 10 years now...since my phone was 5110

It could have been a lot better my SUPER ONE is still around, where I can just write him a letter or send him a message via Globe's SUPER ONE to share my latest hobbies, travel experiences and what's happening to all of his apo every now and then. Unfortunately, he already joined my Lola in heaven to be our guardian angel up above. Whenever I have achievements, I know in the corner he is standing right there happily watching as I achieve my dreams. I know he is happy now but still even if it is already a year since he joined our Father, I still miss him. That's why I still keep the Message #ONE on my phone, because it is the message that always remind me of my Lolo is just around. If ever I have problems I just look at this message and remember my Lolo. There are many new SIM or mobile network provider around with a lot of offers but I never replaced this old SIM of mine (see picture above), because it holds that ONE special message that keeps the memory of my SUPER ONE alive. It holds that ONE message that inspires me to keep going and strive for more. I might be able to replace my phone but I don't think I will never ever replace my Globe SIM.

So for all of you who read this, don't waste your time to let you grandparents/parents or whoever your SUPER ONE is how you love them. You are lucky they are still around and there are unlimited calls/text like Globe's SUPER ONE that you can avail. A simple message will mean a lot for them.  If there could just be a way that I can still call or give him a message, I will instantly grab that opportunity... how I wish there is.

I miss my SUPER ONE...I miss you Lolo Pilo.
