DOLE My Superfruit Day Event last May 7
There’s an old saying that goes happiness, first of all, lies in health. Now, people have become more aware of the emerging sickness around us and the importance of healthy living. There’s no question that fruits are also an important part of a healthy diet. As the importance of having a balanced and healthy diet and exercise is becoming more and more evident, Dole celebrated My Superfruit Day, a celebration of wellness, freshness, and fun! The time to eat healthy and live healthy is now!

Held last May 7 at the Mall of Asia, Dole’s My Superfruit Day was an event celebrating the joys of eating and living healthy, along with sharing the goodness of fruits and vegetables with your friends, family, and to the less fortunate. I was very fortunate to attend this event and witness a healthy celebration from DOLE.

Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken Wrap - Yum!
Dole brought together a day’s worth of fun and partners who shared their passion and advocacy for healthy living to celebrate the magic of fruits and vegetables, a scrumptious, colorful, and refreshing merrymaking of wellness. The people who were invited during the event were very happy to drink fresh juices from DOLE during the entire event. I can really attest that it is really great and it was even my Dad's favorite fruit drink. Aside from the thirst-quencher drink, the buffet table was also full of delicious and healthy dishes. Well known chefs, Chef Him Uy de Baron and Chef Ricmon Del Rosario, prepared the menu where the main ingredient of the food from appetizer to dessert is DOLE fruit products like pineapple and peaches. Just looking at the food, you can already taste the mouth-watering quality of the dishes. Truly amazing and healthy food!
Students presented some cultural dance during the event
The country’s roots and culture were also celebrated, with a parade of different Philippine festivals including Higantes, Maskara, Panagbenga, Sinulog, and Pahiyas. Students from different schools performed some our classic and traditional dances that really relives the festive "fiesta" spirit at SM Mall of Asia that day. I was amazed that these children were really graceful and they still dance these kind of dances.
Cutest Kid in Fruit Costume winner
The audience also enjoyed a spectacular display of magnificence and splendor with a grand parade of fruits and vegetables, celebrating the magic of fruitful sharing. There was also a competition for the "Cutest kid in a Fruit Costume " and "Best Fruit Inspired Costume". Many competed but there's really have to emerge as the winner on the competition. The cute kid in golden pineapple costume was awarded as the cutest kid in fruit costume while a man dressed like fruit goddess was awarded as the best fruit inspired costume. The group with most number of participants were also awarded with 25,000 pesos.

This day of healthy fun and living was hosted by Jon Avila and Tuesday Vargas.

Dole’s My Superfruit Day was truly a fun fiesta of fruits. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said that the first wealth is health so it’s time to celebrate life; the time to eat healthy and live healthy is now!
