A look at the 2013 Giving Journal of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

As Halloween is just starting to sunset and trick or treat events is done, the season of giving or treats is already around the corner. For coffee lovers in the Philippines, it is already the season of planners!
A look at the 2013 Giving Journal of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

First coffee company to start the annual stamp/sticker collection craze this year is Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL). They already kick-off the stamp collecting season today (October 31, 2012) for all planner-enthusiasts or collectors in the country with their 2013 Giving Journal. Filipinos know that this is the trend every Christmas season to have on their wallets stamp cards in the hope to get the latest planners for the upcoming new year. I know you are excited to know how many stickers/stamps to collect or what are the differences this year. So here's a summary of it:
2013 Giving Journal options - I like the darker one

What is different this year?
- You only need to collect 12 stamps as compared to 18 last year. You now save 6 drinks - but that should not be a problem because for sure you like CBTL drinks you can even get to complete for 2 planners.
   - There is a need this year to purchase at least 1 Espresso-based beverage as last year it is not required
   - One need to purchase only 8 drink of their choice (as compared to 15 last year) given the reduction of stamps required.
- There are 2 variants or colors of planner that you can choose from (grey/brown) vs only 1 color last year (white)
- You cannot combine stamp cards anymore

What is retained this year?
- The monthly coupons or treats still exists for this year. See below the list of treats
- Same format, sections or page layout as last year with just minimal changes
- Every cup will still help to sponsor the Real LIFE foundation
- Christmas drink flavor (Red velvet) is still the same as last year

I know you are very eager to know how to collect one now, so here's the complete list of mechanics to start your stamp collection.
My favorite CBTL drink and 2013 Giving Journal Stamp Card
Mechanics:
1. A minimum single receipt purchase of any Original Ice Blended Coffee-based, or Tea-based Beverage, or Frozen Swirl, qualifies a customer to get a stamp card and one (1) stamp.
2. Each card consists of 12 circles with corresponding drink assignments. These are as follows:
  • 1 Original Ice Blended (any flavor, regular or large)
  • 1 Tea Latte (any flavor, regular or large)
  • 1 Espresso-based Beverage (regular or large)
  • 1 Red Velvet Hot Cocoa or Red Velvet Ice Blended (regular or large)
  • Any 8 Regular or Large Original Ice Blended Coffee-Based, or Tea-based Beverages, or Frozen Swirl
  • *A purchase of 1 box of CBTL Capsules (any flavor) = 2 stamps
My 2013 Giving Journal Stamp Card - 1 Stamp Done, 11 to go!
3. Stamp card must always be presented so that a circle may be stamped whenever its corresponding assignment is purchased.
4. Once all 12 circles are stamped and completed, the Customer will be able to claim The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf 2013 Giving Journal at any The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf branch. Combining of stamp cards is not allowed.
5. The completed stamp card should be presented and surrendered to the branch where the 2013 Giving Journal will be claimed. The cashier will punch the stamp card to prevent reuse.
6. Promo period is from October 31, 2012 to January 6, 2013
7. The 2013 Giving Journal may be claimed all throughout the promo period until 60 days after the prom has ended.

Here are other pictures of the planner during my experience with it earlier:

I truly like this CBTL Christmas promo since I truly believe more on the greater cause to support the kids of Real LIFE foundation. I was able to talk to CBTL Marketing staff a few years back and had a better understanding of their cause and also like their idea of giving the customers more flexibility on the drink they purchase rather than being semi-forced to get the latest drinks. :)

How long do you think I can complete my stamp card? I know you are excited as well so what are you waiting for? Purchase your favorite CBTL drinks now and have your own 2013 CBTL planner or journal soon, plus you also help young kids future!

I think I need to hit the gym soon with the lot of food I've eaten during my recent trips and birthday vacation. Good thing Adidas has launched the new adiPure 360 training shoe: a multi-directional and multi-purpose training shoe. With both a men’s version, and a model especially for women, the adiPure 360 is designed to let your feet move as nature intended and help you get the most out of your workout by helping to help build natural strength, agility and balance - and it’s designed to make muscles work harder during exercise.  I was actually able to try it out on their store and first glance the design is already impressive. The shoe is also very light to wear so it fits especially those who are on their training and getting back to shape.

While most other sports have footwear designed specifically for the sport itself, the adiPure 360 is designed primarily for the gym. I was amazed that adidas came up with this product since I must admit I'm using my running shoes for the gym and it is quite hard to use it especially on the treadmill where the texture is different. adidas used super light and flexible materials, it features the latest in technology to support multidirectional movement, and the anatomically designed shoe provides comfort and support throughout every stretch, every squat and every exercise during your workout.

The design and overall flexibility of the adiPure 360 promotes unrestricted movement and harnesses the body’s mechanics. It aims to strengthen the muscles in the feet, toes, ankles and lower legs, while offering a natural feel that is one step from being barefoot- but with the increased foot protection needed during a workout. Here's what the adidas Category Manager have to say about their latest product
Adrian Carney, adidas’ Category Manager for Men’s Training Footwear comments on the innovation and objective behind the development of the adiPure 360: “The foot is a highly complex part of the body - in fact you could say that a lot of engineering went into its design and function! To get the most out of a workout, it’s important to focus on how your feet interact with the ground in almost the same way you think about how your hands interact with a ball or a bat during sports.  Using your foot’s natural power and movement can help you strengthen muscles you never knew you had in your feet, lower legs and throughout your core.”
“The adiPure 360 is multi-purpose shoe, designed with the gym in mind. We focused on solving the problem of ill-fitting and inappropriate footwear undermining the efficiency of an individual’s workout. We identified that a custom made shoe designed to harness the unique movements a person typically makes during their workout was a solution.”
I'm really interested to try out it myself. Hope I can give it a try or better yet purchase one so I can better provide a more thorough review about the experience with the shoe. I'll keep you posted once I was able to do so. If you already purchased one, hope you can share your thoughts about this shoe.
