The Twilight Saga now concludes with its finale in "Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2". A lot of Filipinos have been waiting for this movie to hit the silver screen, especially those who was able to really follow the story of this Stephanie Meyer's best-selling series. I know a lot of you might be wondering if it will be a great finale or "fail"-nale so fortunately I was invited to the advance screening of this movie to provide my perspective on it.

Before I proceed with my judgement on the movie, here's the synopsis (courtesy of SM Cinema) especially for those who weren't able to read the book or couldn't remember the part 1 of this movie:
The epic love story between Bella Swan and Edward Cullen concludes in this final installment of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling series. After the birth of Renesmee, the Cullens gather other vampire clans in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts the family in front of the Volturi.
I must admit, I'm not that a heavy fan of this series as the plot was just purely romance of Bella, Edward and Jacob. However, I was impressed with this last movie of this franchise. I have seen the maturity of the story and the characters on this movie. I have seen improvement on the acting of Kristen Stewart on this movie as compared to her other movies where I have seen lack of emotions from her. Aside from her, I also liked the humor applied on this movie on some parts that really added a different flavor to the movie. I also liked the epic battle and definitely it is something that all Twilight fans should not even blink because it is really great. I must congratulate Bill Condon and Melissa Rosenberg for staging such great task of building that epic scene into the audience. I can still remember the audience in the cinema was really shouting and screaming with every punches thrown during the battle. It was really one hell of a fight to end the Twilight saga.

On the other hand, I think this movie also have some short comings as well. In terms of the graphics applied, I'm quite disappointed with the quality as it is very evident especially with the scenes of Bella and Edward in the forest and even when Renesmee was still a baby. I also think the movie was too short ( I haven't read the book so not sure if it is right) but nevertheless I think there are some aspects there that could be further emphasized.

My Personal Rating: (4/5 Movie Popcorns)
A great way to end this Twilight saga!
I'm impressed on how the Twilight ended with this movie. I think this is the best of all the Twilight series because of the great scenes on the movie. I initially thought that it will just be the usual Bella-Edward romance but this movie really made a different take and even guys will now enjoy this movie.

Do I need to wait after the credits?
No, unfortunately there are no extra scenes for this movie after its credits. :(

PS: The MTRCB rating is PG13, so in case you will bring your kids on this movie please take note of some scenes that may be gruesome for young audiences. There are also love scenes on this movie but I think safely done by the director. If you're also interested to know if you can still see Jacob shirtless, well yes and that scene is also funny (watch it to find out).

The Starbucks 2013 Planner - It comes in black, white and green colors
November 3, 2012 - It's not an official holiday in the Philippines anymore but this day is still something that Filipinos is waiting for. It is because this is the date that Starbucks Philippines declared to be the start of their sticker collecting season for their annual planner giveaway. The red cups are once again out to paint the country red and "rekindle the joy" this holiday season. I've shared on my blog earlier some of the news about the new planner but now I have the full information of this year's Starbucks 2013 Planner promo!
The nostalgic collection of Starbucks planners for 10 years already.
Starbucks 2013 Planner was launched at their kick-off party, which I will post as well more details on a separate post. Based on display at the launch, the theme of this year's planners is entitled Moments of Connection. It has been 10 years since Starbucks Philippines started this annual promotion to give their loyal customers a limited edition planner. I can still remember I was still in college when they started it and I will convince my friends to study in Starbucks and purchase drinks so I can get my own planner.

What is the same as last year?
- They are still providing coupons inside the planner. Here are the coupons available:
The 2013 Planner coupons!
- Same Christmas drinks or Holiday Beverage flavors this year, which are Toffee Nut Latte, Peppermint Mocha, and Dark Cherry Mocha (my personal favorite)
- You can still combine up to 2 promo cards to redeem a planner
- For every planner redeemed, you can help Starbucks beneficiary for years already, which is SparkHope foundation.
- The planner comes with still with a bookmark. However, this year it is cuter with a magnetic bookmark compared to just paper bookmark last year.

What is different this year?
- One noticeable difference is the size of the planner. This year's planner is bigger compared to last year. See the difference with the picture below:
Comparison of 2012 and 2013 planners - You can easily observe 2013 version is bigger
An inside look at the weekly page of the planner - Click to enlarge
- There are less number of planner variants this year. They have 3 colors this year (black, white and green) as compare to 5 last year.
- Last year, you have 2 options of getting a planner; either having 23 free choice of core beverage drinks or same with holiday drinks for lesser stickers (17). For this year, you only have one option which is to get 9 Holiday featured beverages and 8 core beverages, which is the same as latter option above.
- The cover of this year's planner is leather as compared to wood last year. :)
- No more pouch to cover or put your planner as compared last year.
- There are post-its inside the planner that one can use

Upcoming Starbucks Planner 2013

I know you liked my first planner review and a lot of you is also waiting on what I can say about the upcoming planner from Starbucks Philippines. It has been a tradition for years already for me and other aficionados of planners.

I tried going to Starbucks last night to get some news but the planner is not yet available according to them but they promised to me that it is even better this year. The only news that I have for now is that it is of 3 variants this year. In terms of size it is bigger as compared to last year and they still retained the coupons. In terms of the stickers/stamps to collect, they informed me that one needs to collect 17 this year.

Please take note that all of these are unofficial as of the moment but will attend the kick-off party this afternoon to give out more information. Watch-out from my blog about it.

A look at the 2013 Giving Journal of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

As Halloween is just starting to sunset and trick or treat events is done, the season of giving or treats is already around the corner. For coffee lovers in the Philippines, it is already the season of planners!
A look at the 2013 Giving Journal of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

First coffee company to start the annual stamp/sticker collection craze this year is Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL). They already kick-off the stamp collecting season today (October 31, 2012) for all planner-enthusiasts or collectors in the country with their 2013 Giving Journal. Filipinos know that this is the trend every Christmas season to have on their wallets stamp cards in the hope to get the latest planners for the upcoming new year. I know you are excited to know how many stickers/stamps to collect or what are the differences this year. So here's a summary of it:
2013 Giving Journal options - I like the darker one

What is different this year?
- You only need to collect 12 stamps as compared to 18 last year. You now save 6 drinks - but that should not be a problem because for sure you like CBTL drinks you can even get to complete for 2 planners.
   - There is a need this year to purchase at least 1 Espresso-based beverage as last year it is not required
   - One need to purchase only 8 drink of their choice (as compared to 15 last year) given the reduction of stamps required.
- There are 2 variants or colors of planner that you can choose from (grey/brown) vs only 1 color last year (white)
- You cannot combine stamp cards anymore
A look inside 2013 Giving Journal - Click to enlarge
What is retained this year?
- The monthly coupons or treats still exists for this year. See below the list of treats
- Same format, sections or page layout as last year with just minimal changes
- Every cup will still help to sponsor the Real LIFE foundation
- Christmas drink flavor (Red velvet) is still the same as last year
2013 Giving Journal (January - March)  - Click to enlarge
2013 Giving Journal (April - June)  - Click to enlarge
2013 Giving Journal (July - September)  - Click to enlarge
2013 Giving Journal (October - December)  - Click to enlarge
I know you are very eager to know how to collect one now, so here's the complete list of mechanics to start your stamp collection.
My favorite CBTL drink and 2013 Giving Journal Stamp Card
Mechanics:
1. A minimum single receipt purchase of any Original Ice Blended Coffee-based, or Tea-based Beverage, or Frozen Swirl, qualifies a customer to get a stamp card and one (1) stamp.
2. Each card consists of 12 circles with corresponding drink assignments. These are as follows:
  • 1 Original Ice Blended (any flavor, regular or large)
  • 1 Tea Latte (any flavor, regular or large)
  • 1 Espresso-based Beverage (regular or large)
  • 1 Red Velvet Hot Cocoa or Red Velvet Ice Blended (regular or large)
  • Any 8 Regular or Large Original Ice Blended Coffee-Based, or Tea-based Beverages, or Frozen Swirl
  • *A purchase of 1 box of CBTL Capsules (any flavor) = 2 stamps
My 2013 Giving Journal Stamp Card - 1 Stamp Done, 11 to go!
3. Stamp card must always be presented so that a circle may be stamped whenever its corresponding assignment is purchased.
4. Once all 12 circles are stamped and completed, the Customer will be able to claim The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf 2013 Giving Journal at any The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf branch. Combining of stamp cards is not allowed.
5. The completed stamp card should be presented and surrendered to the branch where the 2013 Giving Journal will be claimed. The cashier will punch the stamp card to prevent reuse.
6. Promo period is from October 31, 2012 to January 6, 2013
7. The 2013 Giving Journal may be claimed all throughout the promo period until 60 days after the prom has ended.

Here are other pictures of the planner during my experience with it earlier:

I truly like this CBTL Christmas promo since I truly believe more on the greater cause to support the kids of Real LIFE foundation. I was able to talk to CBTL Marketing staff a few years back and had a better understanding of their cause and also like their idea of giving the customers more flexibility on the drink they purchase rather than being semi-forced to get the latest drinks. :)

How long do you think I can complete my stamp card? I know you are excited as well so what are you waiting for? Purchase your favorite CBTL drinks now and have your own 2013 CBTL planner or journal soon, plus you also help young kids future!

I think I need to hit the gym soon with the lot of food I've eaten during my recent trips and birthday vacation. Good thing Adidas has launched the new adiPure 360 training shoe: a multi-directional and multi-purpose training shoe. With both a men’s version, and a model especially for women, the adiPure 360 is designed to let your feet move as nature intended and help you get the most out of your workout by helping to help build natural strength, agility and balance - and it’s designed to make muscles work harder during exercise.  I was actually able to try it out on their store and first glance the design is already impressive. The shoe is also very light to wear so it fits especially those who are on their training and getting back to shape.

While most other sports have footwear designed specifically for the sport itself, the adiPure 360 is designed primarily for the gym. I was amazed that adidas came up with this product since I must admit I'm using my running shoes for the gym and it is quite hard to use it especially on the treadmill where the texture is different. adidas used super light and flexible materials, it features the latest in technology to support multidirectional movement, and the anatomically designed shoe provides comfort and support throughout every stretch, every squat and every exercise during your workout.

The design and overall flexibility of the adiPure 360 promotes unrestricted movement and harnesses the body’s mechanics. It aims to strengthen the muscles in the feet, toes, ankles and lower legs, while offering a natural feel that is one step from being barefoot- but with the increased foot protection needed during a workout. Here's what the adidas Category Manager have to say about their latest product
Adrian Carney, adidas’ Category Manager for Men’s Training Footwear comments on the innovation and objective behind the development of the adiPure 360: “The foot is a highly complex part of the body - in fact you could say that a lot of engineering went into its design and function! To get the most out of a workout, it’s important to focus on how your feet interact with the ground in almost the same way you think about how your hands interact with a ball or a bat during sports.  Using your foot’s natural power and movement can help you strengthen muscles you never knew you had in your feet, lower legs and throughout your core.”
“The adiPure 360 is multi-purpose shoe, designed with the gym in mind. We focused on solving the problem of ill-fitting and inappropriate footwear undermining the efficiency of an individual’s workout. We identified that a custom made shoe designed to harness the unique movements a person typically makes during their workout was a solution.”
I'm really interested to try out it myself. Hope I can give it a try or better yet purchase one so I can better provide a more thorough review about the experience with the shoe. I'll keep you posted once I was able to do so. If you already purchased one, hope you can share your thoughts about this shoe.
